Borgata launched the first online casino licensed in New Jersey in 2013, and arrived in Pennsylvania in 2021. The MGM International brand is licensed to operate in both states in partnership with the land-based Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa in Atlantic City.
Originally owned by bwin.party, best known for its PartyPoker brand, Borgata offers an extensive lineup of casino games, including exclusive bwin.party slots and table games, along with third-party developed titles, live dealer games and much more.
Borgata’s exclusive network of about 20 progressive jackpot slots paid out more than $3.2 million to one lucky New Jersey player in July 2020.

A dedicated Borgata app is available for both New Jersey and Pennsylvania users. The site opens by default to the casino game lobby. Links to Borgata’s incorporated sportsbook and poker room are at the top of the page. Note that the Pennsylvania site may not offer all three options, at least at first.
The navigation bar at the top of the page will let you narrow the game selection down by category, such as table games, slots, jackpot slots, exclusive games and more.
While you won’t be able to access all the games on the app that are available on the desktop site, mobile users will still have plenty of slots and table games to choose from, and the site adds new games frequently.

Once you’re on the site, it will take only a few minutes to sign up for a new account. Here’s a rundown of the process:
Borgata will try to verify your information online as you’re filling out the form, so make sure you enter your name exactly as it appears on your driver’s license or passport.

MGM International’s online casino brands — Borgata, BetMGM and Party — share a progressive jackpot network called The Big One. The network is made up of about 20 bwin.party progressive jackpot games, including Loot’enkhamun, MGM Grand Millions, Biker Pigs, Melon Madness, Book of Myths and Going Nuts.
As mentioned earlier, The Big One paid out $3.2 million to a New Jersey woman playing Win Studios’ Luck o’ the Jackpot in July 2020. At the time of this review, The Big One jackpot was back up to more than $500,000 in late November 2020.
Read on for an overview of the games you’ll find on Borgata Casino.
Both land-based and online casino game collections consist primarily of slots, and Borgata is no exception. Although the PA site doesn’t yet have access to as many games as NJ as it’s much newer, games are added often, and the site’s library will likely grow quickly.
In the meantime, you’re sure to find a game to interest you from among a variety of exclusive and licensed titles, including Enchanted Lamp from IGT, Konami’s Imperial Wealth, and Enchanted Eyes, an exclusive Big Hit Bonanza title from Ainsworth.
Borgata Casino offers a range of licensed third-party and exclusive Win Studios table games, including a dozen versions of roulette.

Evolution Gaming streams live dealer games from a studio at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City. While the company will continue to use Ezugi’s live dealer software, whether games will continue to be streamed from the Hard Rock is currently unknown.
Evolution Gaming recently opened a live dealer studio in Pennsylvania, so Keystone State gamers can expect to have access to at least a limited number of live dealer blackjack, roulette, Casino Hold’em and baccarat games soon.

Most online casinos in legal US markets will have both good points and negative points. Borgata Casino is no different in that regard. See below for our list of what Borgata online casino is doing right, and what could use improvement.
Borgata is licensed to operate in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The site is regulated by an agency appointed by each state to provide oversight. Borgata is completely safe, and just as secure as any financial institution.
Each state’s governing agency tests and certifies each casino game for fairness before it’s authorized to be offered to the public. All games, bonuses and promotions follow the legal requirements set forth in each market.
Borgata offers a variety of responsible gambling tools. If you’d like to limit your play, take a time out or close your account, you’ll find a responsible gambling link in the game lobby page footer. Borgata’s customer support team also is available to offer assistance 24/7.
Borgata Casino is legal in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, although the two sites will have slight variations. This means that New Jersey players will need to download the Borgata NJ app, and Pennsylvanians will need to download the Borgata PA app.
Borgata’s player support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. An extensive FAQ is available to answer most general questions, although a fair amount of the information is outdated, including the operator’s pre-MGM loyalty program.
No live chat link is available, but in some situations, a live chat window will pop open and offer assistance without you asking for it. Registration and banking are two such possibilities.
Click the “Contact & Help” link in the top right corner of the screen to open an FAQ form that will ask you to choose a statement that best describes your problem. The system will then either give you an answer or ask another question to further pinpoint your issue. You might get exactly the answer you’re looking for after one question, or you might go through half a dozen questions and end up routed to the old FAQ, anyway.
If all else fails, you can reach out to customer support via email at [email protected] or by phone at 877-448-5833.

Borgata online casino is no longer just a New Jersey operation.
As of this week, Feb. 24 to be exact, the Borgata app is live on both sides of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge thanks to a market access partnership with Rivers Casino Philadelphia.
The brand has a huge Garden State following as the MGM-owned property is Atlantic City’s top-grossing property.
“There are few casino brands as well-respected as Borgata, evident by the success we’ve seen with the Borgata Casino app in New Jersey,” said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt.
“Pennsylvania marks an important milestone for us as we introduce the Borgata Casino brand to the first state outside of New Jersey. We’re confident that players in Pennsylvania will enjoy the digital betting experience of Atlantic City’s premier casino.”
PlayNJ caught up with Matthew Sunderland, VP of Gaming for BetMGM, regarding the Borgata online expansion.
From a New Jersey standpoint, the Borgata app has been around for seven-plus years. Combined with Borgata’s land-based success, it should come as no surprise when Sunderland says “there are few casino brands as well-known and trusted as the Borgata.”
He notes this is evident by the success we’ve seen with the Borgata Casino app in New Jersey.
“Our players in New Jersey are incredibly loyal to the Borgata brand, and we believe that we can attract similar loyalty from players in PA. We see this as a huge advantage for our entrance into the PA market,” said Sunderland.
So while up until not Borgata online gamblers were restricted to playing only in NJ, the existing database includes Keystone State customers.
“We also have a strong player database of Pennsylvania residents who have visited the Borgata or used Borgata online in the past, while in New Jersey, and are confident that those players will be thrilled to now have access to the excitement of betting at Atlantic City’s premier casino digitally, from wherever they’re located in PA, said Sunderland.
I should come as no surprise the Borgata’s Pennsylvania app is launching with nearly double the amount of games compared to the 2013 NJ debut.
Borgata rolled out in New Jersey with 98 games while the Pennsylvania library has over 180 titles. This includes live dealer, third-party content and in-house games.
Granted it is seven-plus years later.
However, the PA is still much smaller than the current Borgata app available to NJ players. The number currently sits at 645 offerings and growing.
“We release new games weekly from third-party providers and our in-house games studio, so expect that number to keep increasing. The whole player experience is entirely different now from what it was back in 2013, as you can imagine,” said Sunderland.
“Our casino interfaces and software have been upgraded several times and we’ve introduced a range of in-house content alongside industry-leading player engagement tools and mechanics.”
And online players in both states will notice BetMGM’s integration with MGM Resorts’ M life Rewards program.
So like in NJ, Borgata online casino customers in Pennsylvania can redeem their gameplay for accommodations at properties nationwide, including Borgata.
So the Borgata NJ and PA apps have similarities, yet at the same time, are quite different.
And NJ online casino customers regularly commute between states, whether it be work-related or for entertainment.
Even though the Borgata app is live in the Garden State, for regulatory compliance purposes, New Jersey players will need to re-register in order to play across state lines. Sunderland said account details can be the same, but each state requires players to register separately.
Aside from the PA launch news, it’s no secret the Borgata and BetMGM (also live in Pennsylvania) brands are playing a significant role in the NJ online gambling industry setting monthly records.
The latest being January’s all-time high of $103 million.
Borgata reported $28.7 million in monthly revenue, which is up an eye-opening 176.8 % year-over-over. And as far as the seven license holders go, Borgata is No. 2 behind Golden Nugget’s $31 million.
Since state regulators do not break down reports by operator, it’s hard to gauge exactly how well individual brands are performing. Sunderland noted Borgata and BetMGM have different player profiles but both “have experienced similar growth trajectory in New Jersey in 2020.”
Now with both brands being live a short car ride away, it seems likely they will only get stronger.
